AWWW-RITE!
-- 8 August 2008So now that the site it officially up (thanks, Lindsey!) and linked to (thanks, Zach!), I will make my first attempt at writing an update that no one will read.
I recently scored Yes Madam! from ebay and have been playing it in the background while I work on stuff.
The plot is pretty simple. Michelle Yeoh and Cynthia Rothrock run around in some entertainingly hideous 80’s outfits beating up cartoony bad guys bent on getting a piece of microfilm from a trio of bumbling con-men, one of whom is Tsui Hark. The story is fun because it’s really, really bad, and the action is fun because it’s really, really good. Especially the last 10 minutes, which contain some pretty heavy hits that had to have sent some stuntmen to the hospital. Hopefully they were OK.
Unfortunately, the DVD has been out of print since the late nineties, so if you happen to see it at a rental place, think about picking it up. It’s directed by Corey Yuen, so if you liked My Father is a Hero, or High Risk, you’ll probably like this as well.
this isn’t Crouching Tiger
